Aso-Oke Weaving & Understanding the Difference

Metallic threads 🧵 used in weaving 2-tone Aso-Oke are what give the fabric its signature luminous ✨ finish. The subtle shimmer you see comes from the metallic yarn carefully woven into the fabric.

When two different colors are used for the background and surface binding, the fabric can appear slightly different under various lighting conditions. For instance, a blend of pink and blue may show either tone more prominently depending on the light and exposure, creating that beautiful dynamic effect that metallic Aso-Oke is known for.

In contrast, cotton Aso-Oke has a softer, cooler finish and maintains its true, consistent color. The shade you choose remains exactly the same regardless of lighting pink stays pink, without any shift in tone.

The piece featured in the video measures 25 Ă— 180 inches, woven on a large-size loom for a fuller, more luxurious drape.
