Yesterday, during a consultation with one of my clients, something interesting happened.
As part of her assessment, I gave her a simple task: “Write down the list of foods you normally eat, so I can prepare a personalized meal plan for you.”
She smiled and confidently replied, “Ah, I eat normal Nigerian food o.” 😄
I smiled back, but deep down, I knew there was a misunderstanding. Many of us think we are eating “real food,” but in reality, we are not.
When she began to list what she eats, one particular statement shocked me: “I don’t eat meat.”
“Why?” I asked.
She replied, “Because I was told red meat is not good for me.”
Haaa! 😂 That’s when I explained to her that she had been depriving her body of essential protein, not because she researched it herself, but because “someone said.”
And this is the sad reality of many people today.
We live our lives based on assumptions, half-truths, and hearsay. We take medications without asking about the side effects. We adopt food rules without understanding their impact. We follow health fads without verifying if they are even healthy at all.
The result?
Many are silently battling health conditions that could have been prevented with the right knowledge.
But here’s the good news: after our session, she left with clarity. She now knows what real food is and how to nourish her body properly. And that’s the kind of transformation that makes me love what I do.
The lesson?
Until we take our health seriously, study, ask questions, and seek knowledge, we will keep living in the dark.
Don’t just live by what “they said.” Learn. Verify. Understand. Your health is too precious to gamble with.
And this is what we do at MJ Holistic and Natural Wellness Hub. We help you gain clarity about your health needs when you come for your personal consultation.
