Nnamdi Kanu: FG Withdraws Death Penalty Appeal
The Nigerian Government has reportedly withdrawn its cross-appeal seeking the mandatory death penalty against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu’s Special Counsel, Barr. Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed that the Federal Government no longer intends to pursue the death-penalty aspect of its appeal.
The development comes as Kanu continues his legal battle against his conviction.

History is speaking.

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has publicly apologised to the Igbo people for the role Plateau played during the Nigeria–Biafra Civil War.

According to the Governor, many Plateau people were deceived by the military government of the time into participating in the war. He appealed for forgiveness and called for peace, reconciliation and stronger unity among all Nigerians.

Whether one agrees with every part of history or not, acknowledging the past is an important step towards healing and mutual understanding.

May the souls of all those who lost their lives during the war continue to rest in peace, and may such a tragedy never happen again.
