So, I was helping her with her assignment. When it got to Diction, they were asked to write the dictionary transcription of some words.
Wanting to avoid giving the wrong answers (and to make things faster), I brought out my phone and searched for them.
Simdi: "Mummy, don't you know Diction?"
Me: "Of course I do, na!" ๐
Simdi: "Then why are you using your phone?" ๐คจ
Me: (thinking to myself: No be me you go shame today!) ๐
Me: "To make it faster, baby."
The way she looked at me after that, ehn... like she was silently reviewing my qualifications as a mother and teacher. ๐
At that moment, I realized that in my daughter's eyes, mothers are supposed to know everythingโfrom dictionary transcription to why the sky is blue, who invented pencils, and where missing socks disappear to. ๐คฃ๐คฃ
