FARMER GOVERNOR UMARU BAGO RETAINS COMRADE YAKUBU GARBA AS HIS RUNNING MATE FOR NEXT 2027 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION.
Niger State governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has retained his deputy governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba as his running mate for next year's governorship election.
The farmer governor disclosed this during an extra ordinary meeting of the State government held at the Council Chamber, Government House Minna.
Farmer Umaru Bago used the forum to reiterate that his administration will try as much as possible to make sure that every aspect of the society is represented in his government in order to have a reflection of State character in governance.
He called on people to preach peace and desist from overheating the polity as the State is faced with a lot of challenges.
The farmer governor equally used the avenue to address the agitations made from some quarters and added that, all agitations are germaine and fundamental ad people have the right to aspire.
Farmer governor said, he remains poised to adhering to democratic principles and will allow people speak out on behalf of their clans, religion, tribe, zone, senatorial district and constituencies in order to have equal representation in the system.
He called on stakeholders in the local government areas where there are vacancies positions to nominate their choices as soon as possible to enable him make necessary replacement.
The farner governor also commended the Speaker, State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji and the entire members of the State House of Assembly for their support describing it as a turning point in the State's democracy as there is no descending voice in the State assembly and the State's cabinet in the choice of deputy governor.
He also appreciated the State APC party for their support and continuous leadership in making sure that the party triumphs.
Highlight of the event was the signing and presentation of nomination form to the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba.
