Soap Costing Formula (Per Bar)

Step 1: Calculate Total Soap Weight

Formula:

> Weight per Bar × Number of Bars

Example:

> 130 g × 12 = 1,560 g

---

Step 2: Calculate Cost per Gram

Formula:

> Total Raw Material Cost ÷ Total Soap Weight

Example:

> ₦2,287 ÷ 1,560 = ₦1.47/g

---

Step 3: Calculate Raw Material Cost per Bar

Formula:

> Cost per Gram × Weight per Bar

Example:

> ₦1.47 × 130 = ₦191.10

---

Step 4: Calculate Total Cost Price

Formula:

> Raw Material Cost per Bar + Other Production & Operating Costs

Example:

> ₦191.10 + ₦61.00 = ₦252.10

---

Step 5: Calculate Profit

Formula:

> Total Cost Price × Desired Profit (%)

Example (18.3%):

> ₦252.10 × 18.3% = ₦46.13

---

Step 6: Calculate Selling Price

Formula:

> Total Cost Price + Profit

Example:

> ₦252.10 + ₦46.13 = ₦298.23 (Round to ₦300.00)
