goglow_hub Part 3:
- We decided to test more than just their memory... we wanted to test their understanding!
Every day at Goglow Hub, our JS3 students come in, learn, practice, ask questions, solve problems, and eventually head home.
But we started wondering...
What happens when the classroom is removed from the equation?
What if their parents suddenly asked them, "So, what exactly did you learn today?"
Or their younger siblings looked up to them and said,
"Please explain this to me."
Would they remember the lesson?
Could they explain it in their own words?
Could they connect what they had learned to a question they weren't prepared for?So, we decided to find out. ®
X
We took the first hour of the day and turned it into a surprise Memory Fresh!
No preparation.
No rehearsed answers.
No cutting.
No filtering.
No "let me check my notes."
Just them, their brains, and what they genuinely understood.
We asked questions based on what they had recently learned and watched them struggle, think, reason, explain, correct themselves, and sometimes even surprise us!
And honestly, that was the whole point.
Because at Goglow Hub, we don't just want students who can memorize answers for an examination Because at Goglow Hub, we don't just want students who can memorize answers tor an examination.
We want students who can understand what they are learning, communicate it confidently, apply it, and teach it to someone else.
Sometimes, you don't truly know what you know until someone asks you to explain it.
Today wasn't about who got everything right.
It was about discovering what stayed, what was understood, what was forgotten, and what needs to be revisited.
Because learning isn't just about "I read it."It's about:
"I understand it."
"I can explain it.'"I can teach someone else." And yes... there were plenty of moments of
"Ummm... I know this one, wait..." e But that's learning too.
At Goglow Hub, we don't just prepare students to answer questions. We prepare them to THINK.
