Your sewing machines can act like Ogbanje at times. They might skip stitches, get tangled up in thread, or even break a needle. But blaming the sewing machine for these issues is like blaming your phone for running out of battery.


Blaming the machine will make you feel better for a moment, but it doesn't solve the problem.


So, instead of blaming your poor, innocent sewing machine, take a step back and ask yourself:

Have I been taking good care of my machine?

Did I thread the machine correctly?

Did I choose the right needle and thread for the fabric I'm working with?

Did I rough-handle my machine in any way?


By taking responsibility for your own actions (or inactions), you'll be much more likely to fix the problem and get back to your sewing project.


Plus, you will begin to see your sewing machine in a positive way, rather than an Ogbanje.

Trust me, this is 100 percent true.

Tailoring is one of the highly underrated work.

When a child is not doing well in school, then he/she is pushed to tailoring.
Then some people are doing it because, they feel it the only option as they can't further education.
Learn and do this work with passion and feel how fulfilling it is.

Do you know what it requires to pieces a fabric and then tailor it to a modest, elegant whole again to a perfect size.

Tailoring requires arithmetic, your creativity, economics and alot more. I don't think you can pay enough for that.

How a doctor feels after saving a patient, how a teacher feels seeing his students Excel, you get right ?
The feeling also is ecstatic, when you see someone magically and beautifully stepping out on the outfit you make.
I told someone I was learning tailoring and she said " everybody na tailor now" and I said " there are levels to tailoring" . Tailor pass tailor.
Just like we have ND,HND,BSC and PHD.

While I was searching for a skill to learn, I choose tailoring because I love it and it a skill that would forever be required till the last day.

From the day you were born till your last day in this life, you will be clothed.
As much as people keep giving birth, there would never be enough tailors.

Appreciate your tailor, they really are trying. If he say 10k try pay, do not compare.
Mr A sew the style for 4k, why is Mr B asking for 10k. Like I said there are levels to it.

Example: we all know zip, Mr A sew thesame style and used a zip of #50, there are zips that is sold for #700, #1200. You see the difference?
This is just one out of many things, I used this as we all know zip.

To all the tailors seeing this, I say well done🙌, may God strengthen you all and increase you all in knowledge.
