Before sharing our market agenda for 2026, we have the pleasure of adding one more event to our lineup this year.

We are happy to announce that The Dutch Tailorette will be making a debut at ✨️ CastleFest 2026 ✨️

The event list for this year was all set and ready to be shared a few weeks ago, but then we received word that CastleFest had a spot for us and we could come off of the waiting list!

We are beyond excited, as coming to CastleFest feels like going full circle. Because this magical festival is the place where we first met 12 years ago! ❤️

We can't wait to meet all of you there ✨️

The Dutch Tailorette at Elfia Vorden 2026

We had a magical Elfia last weekend at the new location in Vorden! We really enjoyed the castle gardens, had fun with all the trial and error of our own new shop setup and above all we saw a lot of beautiful costumes.

Thank you to all who visited, chatted and tried on my creations. It was lovely to see so many new and familiair faces as well. ❤️

All these beautiful pictures where made by .nl who surprised me with an impromptu-shoot in the shop! I always feel a bit awkward on camera, but within a few minutes she had me smiling and feeling confident! ❤️

The last couple of days were spent on making more new decorations for the shop, but this project was quite a bit bigger than the previous two!

One done, two more to go! And to sand and stain them of course. Should I go for a light or dark wood colour?

Big thank you to my love for lending me your skills and bringing my silly sketches and ideas to life. These wooden clothing racks have been on my wishlist for years ❤️

✨️ One more shop display project finished ✨️

The letterbox in the shape of a house we found while in a thriftstore last week!

It needed a little bit of love and some pieces of red wool felt, but now it's the perfect display for our pilgrim brooches, don't you agree?

This little handmade banner will now grace our shop's counter and stylishly inform you about the fact that we accept card payments as well!

The Midwinterfair is almost two weeks behind us, but I wanted to share some pictures of our shop and vibe from this years edition.

Due to a change in market stall size, we decided that we would no longer bring our woolen fabrics because it simply would not fit.

Instead, we styled one of the stalls to resemble a walk-in closet, with a spotlight on our new Ruana cloaks! They have been a massive hit so far and I want to thank each and every one of you for the heartfelt love my creations received this year. I think it will never stop humbling me, thank you all so much ❤️

Tw: pet loss

One week ago we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to our beloved little Elsa. It still feels unreal and our hearts are shattered. Thank you little one for the 9 years you spend with us. You were the best.. 🥺❤️

Onze grootste nachtmerrie is helaas werkelijkheid geworden voor een van onze collega's. Hun aanhanger is gestolen, volgeladen en al. Houdt alsjeblieft je ogen open als er een grote hoeveelheid stoffen of spullen voor viking reenactment aangeboden wordt.

Our biggest nightmare became a reality for one of our colleagues. Their trailer was stolen, loaded with their viking reenactment camp, gear and shop inventory. Please keep your eyes open for if a large amount of fabrics or furniture for viking reenactment gets offered online.
