Rishon Thapa and Binita Kapali are leading the National B Chess Championships 2026.
In the Open Section, Rishon Thapa stands at the top with a perfect 4/4 score, while five players are closely chasing him with 3.5 points.
In the Women’s Section, Binita Kapali is the sole leader with 3 points from 3 rounds. Kritisara Adhikari and Pooja Bhandari follow closely behind with 2.5 points each.
The championship will continue until May 29, with 8 rounds scheduled in the Open Section and 6 rounds in the Women’s Section. The top 9 players from each section will qualify for the National A Chess Championship 2026.
The tournament is organized by the Nepal Chess Federation and Knight Chess Club.
