A young arts student with a camera, and an eye for the everyday. 🎞️

In the 1970s, Louise Lonsdale-Cooper walked the streets of Auckland and pointed her lens at what she found along the way. Storefronts, open doors, street scenes, the real life of Ponsonby Road as it was then. The result is a remarkable record of a neighbourhood in transformation.

Open For Business brings that archive to Studio One Toi Tū as part of Auckland Heritage Festival 2026. Come and see the street you know through the eyes of someone who captured it before it evolved.

Georgie Malyon has an amazing eye for bold colours, beautiful shapes and knowing how to stand out - which is why her creations at .florist are simply incredible.

We love how she bravely combines colours and textures to create true works of art - her florals are so clever, stunning, and unique 😍

Manifest your Italian OE right here in Ponsonby - Little 'Lato is ready to welcome you 🍨⁠

Little Lato's founder Hannah Wood trained at Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna (yes, studying gelato at university is a thing and we're obsessed), before bringing the knowledge she gained home to Auckland and opening her first tiny gelato kitchen in 2017. Since then, the business has grown from a small local operation into one of New Zealand’s beloved artisan gelato names.

Their bright parlour on Ponsonby Road has built a cult following for their huge range of award-winning flavours made with proper Italian gelato technique. Often busy with excited customers, no matter the time of day, they’ve managed to really nail the simple, joyful experience of standing in front of a cabinet trying to choose a scoop flavour.

If Eat Drink Laugh say this is their best slice yet - we'd recommend getting there ASAP 😂

Their new salted caramel slice has officially landed on the menu - imagine rich, buttery layers topped with silky caramel 🤤 Oh, and did we mention? It’s gluten-free 🙌

Best served with a warm cup of their barista-made coffee, and curled up in one of their cosy booth seats 😍
