Chloe, Andrew and Wilson represented Card Merchant at the Let's Play Games Open House 2026. It was always great to be here in Sydney connecting with many other retailers from Australia and NZ, the LPG team, and the many publishers who made the trip to Sydney.

We had our very first Card Merchant Franchise Day at HQ, with representatives from every store across the country joining us to help envision the future of Card Merchant!

It was an awesome day filled with engaging topics, fun discussions, and inter-franchise mingling. We're excited to roll out improvements across all Card Merchant stores - making them better spaces for our staff and our lovely customers alike! A huge thanks to everyone who joined us, for helping us learn and grow the Card Merchant family together!

The Christchurch management team is off to Auckland to meet with one of our suppliers, hear some exciting updates from some of our favourite publishers, and do some cross-store training with other Card Merchant teams!

Can’t wait to teach those other stores how it’s done ;)

We’ll be back in a few days, but don’t worry, we’re sure the store will end up running even smoother without us there.

Rotorua, we have some BIG news for you!

We are incredibly excited to share that Card Merchant Rotorua will be opening its doors very soon on Saturday, 12th September!

This new store will be brought to you by Nathan Samu plus the same team that brought you Card Merchant Tauranga, as well as Eatz Kennedy from Card Merchant Whangarei. It’s been in the works for a while and we absolutely cannot wait to meet you all and share our enthusiasm and passion for playing, trading and collecting cards with Rotorua!

We now have a stamp card that can be used across multiple stores! Make sure you grab one next time you're in store to get rewarded with your purchases.

Get up to $50 in store credit!

Participating stores: Whangarei, Silverdale, Takapuna, WestCity, Hamilton, Tauranga, Taupo, Wellington and Christchurch.
If you have an existing stamp card with any of these stores, you may choose to fill that card first and then move to the new cards.

Last weekend we ran the Disney Lorcana Card Merchant Open - Best-of Ink Combination Tournament at the Auckland Card Show!

We had an awesome 50 players competing and representing their favourite ink combination to be the best for each one and earn themselves the coveted 2026 Convention Playmat!
