A few highlights from our recent Gunn & Moore 2026/27 tech session at Players Sports Greenlane, led by sports industry icon and former BLACKCAP Phil Horne.

The team got hands-on with the latest GM bat range, including the new Rival, Galaxy, Maxi and Diamond profiles, while our newer staff also worked through the fundamentals of cricket bat sizing, fitting and the practical advice parents need when buying for junior players.

The new GM bats are looking seriously good this season. Fuller profiles, big shapes and some of the best-looking willow currently on our walls make them well worth picking up if you’re shopping for a new bat.

Sessions like this are part of how we keep our team sharp, so the advice you get in store is based on product knowledge, not guesswork.

A new episode of Behind The Gear is coming soon, with Tai joined by one of our Players Sports cricket specialists Mitch for a deep dive into our 2026/27 cricket bat range.

They get hands-on with the latest English willow bats from Gray-Nicolls, Kookaburra, Gunn & Moore, SS, TON, New Balance and DSC, talking through different shapes, profiles and what Mitch likes across the range.
