I'm going to get in trouble because these lovely people hate public acknowledgments but this week is International Volunteer Week, and I couldn't let it pass without acknowledging the mahi of our awesome team of volunteers.

Apart from myself, our team is completely voluntary, which means all the lovely faces you see when you come in store are here because they believe in providing our community with great quality items and a friendly face.

We are so blessed to have them, and really couldn't keep our doors open without them!

Well, Top Shop is done and dusted for the year!
What an amazing experience for our little op shop to have made the cut. We didn't take the win on the night, but just being shortlisted in a room full of big businesses with far more resources available than we have was an honour in itself.

I'd like to publicly acknowledge the hard work, dedication and commitment of our team of volunteers who make Thrive a place that our community was proud to vote into the finalists for top shop. It's unbelievable to have even been in the room, and we are so grateful for the love we felt throughout this process.

An extra special thanks is deserved for Karen McEldowney, from C7 Design, who is the mastermind behind our social media and drove our top shop campaign. Her work, both professionally and personally, has been a huge support for Thrive, and for me as the manager.

Thanks also go to the Northpoint Community Trust for their support and being willing to go along with me on this crazy ride.

Congratulations to all the winners on the night, including our neighbours in Bell Block who took out the win in their category.

We've come a long way in such a short time, and we couldn't have done it without our community! Next year, who knows!

To celebrate our new MONDAY opening (10am-2pm) we are having a sale in store on Monday 15th June. Buy any clothes item and get a 2nd clothes item free. The free item is the lesser value of the 2.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Introducing our lovely volunteer assistant manager, Elaine. We are so grateful for all Elaine does to help make our shop thrive. Elaines love for op shopping, sorting things and want to give something valuable back to the community led her to join the team. If you see her in store ask her about her travels. Her favourite place to visit is Italy.
