We’ve just crossed 1000 feedbacks, so we’re having a little moment to reflect 💛

We’re so proud to have maintained 100% positive feedback and even prouder that we’ve never had a customer issue we couldn’t resolve. If something goes wrong, we make it right. Maybe being a nurse helps with a bit of de-escalation 😅 but really, it’s just about treating people right.

We know buying online can feel risky, especially buying secondhand, so we focus on honest listings, lots of photos, clear communication, and valuing every dollar you spend.

Well… this feels a bit surreal 😅

The Pup and Sourcer is officially 2 years old… AND today we hit $25,000 donated to NZ animal rescues with a few extra donations. Not bad for a little side hustle that started with “let’s just see how this goal goes”… 🥳

To everyone who has supported us, whether you’ve bought something, donated goods, shared a listing, or just quietly cheered us on, thank you ❤️ You’ve helped turn piles of secondhand bits and pieces into something that’s actually making a difference.

And to the incredible rescue teams up and down the country doing the real hard mahi every single day - thank you even more 🙏 It’s a privilege to support you and see these funds go exactly where they’re needed most.

It hasn’t always been glamorous (our spare room would like a word 😵), but it’s been worth every volunteered minute.

We’re so proud of what’s been achieved… and we’re definitely not done yet.

LEFT TO DIE - FIGHTING FOR EVIE
When we arrived, we thought we might be too late. But a little ear twitch gave us a glimmer of hope. She was injured, starving, dehydrated and wheezing painfully from a bad lung infection. She had had her babies taken for lamb. Her body was covered in ticks, her ears were full of them. Shaking and quivering, she could stand and stumble, but only just.

Her soul was so defeated, so vulnerable and fragile little body was giving out. When Dalina caught her, Evie's body collapsed into her arms.

From the pressure sores on her bony hips, we think she was down for at least 4 days, and unwell for far longer. I cannot imaging how horrible it would be to be so sick, in such pain and with hundreds of crawling ticks burrowing their heads into skin and ears.

Her little soul is alive and hanging on. She has been on on a lot of meds and intensive fluid therapy. She will see the vets about her leg once shes strong enough to transport safely and we are unsure what this will mean but looking into all options to find whats best for her.

Please keep this little one in your thoughts. We are praying for her to keep recovering and for good answers for her leg so she can grow up surrounded by love.

With so many emergency cases, vital projects while the ground is denough, and vehicle breakdowns this summer, our bank account situation has been getting rather scary.

I'm currently at the mechanics while our rescue wheels (the horse float) gets fixed as we have animals needing transport to keep them safe. We've had some lovely second hand clothes and items donated recently so Im hoping to get these listed and posted ASAP to help raise funds for the float, feed, projects and Evie's care.

We have 4.5 days until our hen rescue which means our applications to adopt close in 2.5 days to allow us enough time to rescue prep, ensure all adopters have all the info they need and time for our volunteers to be ready to go.

These girls are 17 month old brown shavers and truly deserve their forever homes.

WOW. I still can’t quite believe this 😮 As we wind down into a week of no sourcing, no photos, no listings, no postage… I wanted to reflect on whether we are making a difference…

$23,586. 🫨

That’s how much we have been able to donate so far through The Pup and Sourcer. 🎉🐾

By rescuing secondhand treasures from landfill and rehoming them with care, The Pup and Sourcer has quietly grown into something powerful. This total doesn’t even include the extra money spent at school fairs, garage sales, and charity fundraisers — just part of the bigger picture of doing good where you can.

To everyone who has bought, donated, shared, or supported us — thank you for getting us here, at 95% goal well early. This milestone belongs to you too.

After a huge December, we’re taking a short breather and will be closed until January 7th, then it’s back into it with fresh energy and big plans. 💚

After an incredibly successful December of rescuing and rehoming trash into treasure, we’re going to take a short breather to catch up on life, rest our sourcing muscles, and reset. We’ll be back and ready to resell from early January.

To every rescue who shows up day after day with compassion, grit, and very little thanks - we see you. And to our community who buys secondhand, shares our posts, tells their friends, and believes in what we’re doing…well, none of this happens without you.
