So many lessons learned from this batch of soap!!!
I was still able to save the batch thank god, because I did not feel like trying to hot process it!!

I made another half batch without fragrance and it worked out perfectly!

I flippen fumbled while making a special batch of soaps this morning!!!

Ive only even felt a slight tingle from the lye steam, when I didnt move my hand fast enough.
But today!!! 😭😭 Thank God for mum being next door because I needed help!!!

I didnt think it was lye at first when my arm started feeling irritated. So I washed it and carried on until I looked at it and realized it was definitely the lye!
Quick google said to remove any contaminated clothes and thats when I realized I had gotten soap mix on the side of the bench and then my tshirt and had been rubbing my arm on it for about an hour.

20 minutes under running water then a burn gel pad, which i reacted to and made it worse. 😬🫠
Mum wrapped it and with the push from a good friend, off to the doctors to get it checked out. Man am i thankful for our medical centre to squeeze me in so fast!! They checked it out and patched me up.

Now to wait two days to check on it again.
Its definitely not been a fun time!!

Something that happens in the background of social media is donating to local fundraisers.

A while back i was asked if id be up for donating products for the Lions club Ellesmere golf tournament. That was raising funds for Ellesmere College - Te Kāreti o Waihora and they were able to raise a wooping $50,000!! 😲😲

This week ive been asked if Id like to donate a gift box to the Ladies night happening in our town. The evening is raising funds for the families affected by the crash that involved a whole van of rugby players from a town over, when another car failed to give way. All made it out thank God!! But it doesn't just end there.

I said absolutely can!

So if you have a local fundraiser that you are looking for products to add to hampers etc, then flick me a message.
I'll be aiming to contribute to one a month.

I always appreciate when I get asked to donate, because it doesnt just help them out, but it gets my products and brand infront of new eyes and in new hands.

Ive been keeping a failed magnesium balm from about 2 years ago now. Because i could still use it on myself, but to use a whole batch just on sore muscles was going to take me forever!!!
So I finally used half of it and about 8 old retention jars that I keep from every batch.
It seemed to work out so far. 😬

Made this one a little more exciting for the kids.

Comfort zones!!
When was the last time you pushed yours??

It was so great to feel like a newbie again and start building on a new skill. Being the one in the room with absolute zero knowledge of how to do something and what the lingo being said meant.

Owning a business means being the expert in what I make and do. Well mostly. 😬😬

Here's to doing more outside of my comfort zone!!

Next I think I'll head to the local golf course and see about doing a round. Never been there and never played golf on an actual course. But ive been wanting to go there for so long and see how it looks.

Gosh now me would have loved to have done this when I was at school!!

The things I could have learnt! Also past me probably wouldn't have been at school to learn this anyway!!
