Citrine the inspiration for our page's name! Stone of positivity, prosperity, abundance, wealth, and resonating with the solar plexus chakra and the sun. It has a gentle, warming, and supportive energy both emotionally and physically.
SO what's the difference between natural and heated citrine?
HEATED CITRINE is amethyst that has been heated to high temperatures in specialized ovens to create the deep-orange to golden tones within the stone. This process transforms the purple amethyst to the golden citrine we see other sold in shops. It is also significant;y cheaper than naturally occurring citrine. (1st photo).
NATURAL CITRINE is much rarer in natural. It comes primarily from Brazil as well as Africa where it is marketed as Kundulini Quartz. Kundalini usually has a slightly different formation with one large crystal point having many smaller points growing alongside the base. It is believed to be coloured by trace amounts of iron within the stone and low amounts of radiation from surrounding minerals create the smoky tones it sometimes embodies. (Photos 2-7)
