🪰 My Spirit Animal is a Fly 🪰
People laugh when I say that.
They probably think... dirty, rubbish, decay.
But today it's winter in New Zealand. I'm sitting in a clean, warm, peaceful spiritual whare ... and who turns up to sit with me?
A fly.
Maybe we've judged them all wrong.
Flies don't represent filth. They represent transformation. They take what has reached the end of its life and help return it to the earth so something new can grow. They remind us that nothing in nature is wasted.
To me, the fly represents resilience. Adaptability. Persistence. The ability to survive where others can't. The courage to go where others won't. The reminder that beauty isn't always found in what society celebrates.
Every creature has a purpose.
Maybe our spirit animals aren't chosen because they're glamorous. Maybe they're chosen because they reflect something we're here to learn.
So today, instead of brushing the little fly away, I smiled.
Sometimes Spirit doesn't arrive as an eagle or a butterfly.
Sometimes... it arrives with tiny wings and an invitation to see the world differently. 🪰
