Illegal dumping affects all of us, so it's great to see local conversations focusing on practical solutions.

We're proud to have been mentioned as a place where unwanted bikes can be dropped off instead of being dumped. If you've got a bike that's no longer being used, bring it to Pakuranga Bike Hub. We'll assess it and, where possible, repair, recycle or repurpose it to keep more bikes out of landfill and help get more people riding. 🚲💚

Love bikes, storytelling and social media? 🚲

We're looking for a Social Media & Communications Coordinator to help keep our Bike Hubs visible, connected and thriving.

This 12-month fixed-term role (15 hours per week) is perfect for someone who enjoys creating engaging content, building community connections, and sharing the stories that make Auckland's Bike Hubs so special.

You'll spend much of your time managing and growing our Bike Hub pages, creating photos, videos and content from across the network, while also supporting communications for our wider active and sustainable transport initiatives.

Based partly at our New Lynn office, with opportunities to visit Bike Hubs and capture content around Auckland.

Nice one Neal!

Neal has been cycling daily to work for the past nine years, covering a 20 km route between his home in Pakuranga and his work place in Newmarket. While a direct route would only be around 10 km, he chooses the longer ride because he enjoys the cycleways so much.

“Beyond safety, the cycleways have added real value to my day. They’ve created opportunities to interact with a wide range of users, both human and canine and those moments, combined with the physical activity, set me up mentally for the day ahead in the office. Of course, the weather isn’t always ideal, but even on rough days, it beats being stuck in traffic.”

Congratulations to our local winners Zach, Jemima and Teddy of the Design Your Dream Bike Competition and a big shout-out to regional winner Jordan, who rode away on a brand new bike! 🚲🎉

Jordan had outgrown his old bike, so we were especially pleased to help him get back on two wheels.

The EcoFest Competition challenged tamariki to create the most creative, wild and delightful bike designs imaginable. Prize winners received a fun pack of bike goodies including handlebar streamers, glow-in-the-dark tyre valve caps, a flying pig handlebar decoration, a bell and a puncture repair kit.

Thanks to everyone who entered and shared their amazing ideas!
