I've always loved birthdays. And not just my own. I love to spoil people, and bake cake, and do "nice" present wrapping. When I was younger I could never understand when "old" people said they forgot their birthday, or how old they were. But it's happened!!! Someone asked me the recently how old I was and I was genuinely unsure if I was 41 or 42 and now I have missed celebrating Memoria Magnet Company first birthday guys 🤦‍♀️

From a classic 1-degree-of-separation moment with in the morning tea line, to workshops challenging me to think differently, and stepping out of my comfort zone to network and raise my hand, was fantastic.

The incredible keynote speakers and Bev Priestman come from very diverse backgrounds but the messages they shared wove together reminding us that it is important to surround ourselves with good people, to have the hard conversations, that although there will be challenges - you will learn so much from those moments, that sometimes you just have to back yourself - say yes and figure it out later, and although our village may be global, its important remember where you come from!

Some days are hard. Building a side hustle around a full time job, and a family, and juggling responsibilities and expectations, it is easy to question whether you are doing the right thing - no matter how much you believe you are on the inside. And then along comes a moment like this, a little bit of external validation that you are on the right path. When a person I had never met came up to our booth at the Love Local Expo on Saturday super excited to see us, and told me that the whole reason she had popped down was because she had heard about us and saw our name on the exhibitor list and wanted to come grab some magnets, I am not gonna lie it gave me the warm fuzzies all over and a lil lump in my throat.

It might have been a passing comment to her, but it was exactly what I needed to hear and I am very grateful for it 🤍
