I handpicked these Boulder Opals directly from a miner, Peter, whom I met at the Sydney Gem Show. I learnt that Australia produces around 90% of the world’s opal!!! And opal doesn’t really like water, so if you’re wearing opal jewellery, try to avoid water, as this can affect the stone over time.

These Boulder Opals are from Queensland, Australia, with their natural ironstone matrix on the back（see last photo）. Each piece has its own unique layers, patterns and flashes of colour. I picked up 10 pieces and kept one for myself, other 9 are heading to the website tonight.

The camera really doesn’t do their flash justice, so I took a quick video under natural sunlight for you to see them a little better. Each one has its own beautiful flashes, layers and details that are so much better in person.

When you put our new Larimar spheres under the light… beautiful glow coming through the blue, I kept 3 spheres for myself （one in each size） And I’ve put 6 most beautiful on the website for you to choose from.🩵

Larimar is only found in the Barahona region of the Dominican Republic, and it’s not an easy stone to mine. It’s found in small pockets within the mountains, so getting the material out can be difficult and dangerous. So there simply isn’t a huge amount of Larimar around and finding gem quality pieces like this is even harder.
