A love of crafts and Māori art forms saw the collaboration of a set of twins and their younger sister to form Teina & Twins. Using traditional Māori patterns and/or techniques, Teina and Twins offer a contemporary interpretation of form and an educational experience in their work, to share knowledge and an appreciation for all things. Inspired by our world, we continue to create using various form

s of mediums, including wood, feathers, leather, paints, fabrics, and thread. Each piece has a story, so our traditional understandings of designs, techniques, or patterns can continue to bless generations to come and hopefully inspire others to create as well.

Custom mahi isn't something we planned to do, but there are those projects where you know a special piece would give something extra to the kaupapa.

Heres the product of having a tutu....a mobile phone holder for our Waiāriki region of Te Ropu Wahine Maori Toko I te Ora (Māori Womens Welfare League).

As active members of Te Whai Arahi Hou roopu, we celebrate the mahi our ladies do for whānau and are proud to be continuing the legacy of our kuia.

Teina and Twins are living out the lessons taught to us and that includes the notion of "awhi atu, awhi mai" or "aroha atu, aroha mai".

Our main focus is offering items that are inspired by our identity as wāhine Māori and citizens of the world and our environments to educate and raise spirits. As a not so 'normal' lot, we are rolling with whatever comes our way, knowing that there is a plan for us even if we don't know what that plan is.

Thank you to all those who have supported us on this frantic decision to join forces. We love you all big time and long time. Now we wait...

NOTE: We are amateurs with all this social media stuff but hei aha..... better to do something then do nothing!
