A massive thank you to Sally Rae of the otagodailytimes for featuring our village in today’s edition. I spoke to the lovely Sally last week about how we are going all in on the Tarras Village and couldn’t be more excited. From taking over from mum when she passed away to our future vision. Of course I also mentioned the Creative Club - can you tell I’m a wee bit passionate 😅🤣

We’re so excited to announce our second Tarras Village Creative Club workshop, with the lovely Emma from Botanic Press.

Based in Wānaka, Emma is the creative behind Botanic Press - a pressed floral studio centred around preserving flowers, memories and meaningful moments, alongside creating beautiful botanical paper goods and art.

For this workshop, we’ll each be creating our own piece of art using pressed flowers under Emma’s guidance - something completely unique to you and a beautiful piece to take home and frame. We absolutely love this one!

Thursday 17 September | Tarras Village

We’ll start at 5.30pm with half an hour of social time - have a glass of wine, meet some new people or catch up with old friends - before settling in for the workshop at 6pm. 🍷

Tickets go on sale Wednesday at 10am and are $50 (includes a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage).

Make sure you’ve joined our Creative Club at tarrasvillage.co.nz. We’ll be emailing members the ticket link on Wednesday morning, or you’ll be able to find it under the Events tab on our website.

Our first Creative Club was such a special evening and we’re so excited to do it all again.

Come on your own (don’t be shy we are super friendly :)), bring a friend, have a wine, get creative and leave with something beautiful you’ve made yourself.

We have a feeling this one will sell out quickly as we have limited spaces, so don’t miss out!

Make sure you’re signed up to our Creative Club through our website ✨

Gemma and I started Creative Club as a way to explore our own creativity, meet some cool new people and, most importantly, bring people together. A little time to connect, make something with your hands and take some time for yourself.

Our next workshop is Thursday 17th September, and we have an awesome local creative joining us to run this one.

We’ll be revealing who it is - and what we’ll be creating - later this week. And don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of notice before tickets go on sale.

We’ve had such a lovely few weeks here at Tarras Village. 🤍

From our very first Creative Club workshop with the wonderful Phoebe from Clay & Ball Pottery, to sharing the news that we won’t be renewing our PERRIAM lease in Wānaka so we can pour more of our love and energy into the Village.

We’ve honestly been overwhelmed by all of your beautiful messages and support. It has meant so much to us and really warmed my heart.

And there’s lots more to come. We have another amazing local creative lined up for our September Creative Club, which we’ll be announcing this week - I think you’re going to love this one!

It’s a big week ahead as we spend our final week in Wānaka, while also working away behind the scenes to make our lovely little Village even more beautiful.

It feels like the beginning of a really special new chapter.

Today we announced that we have made the difficult decision not to renew the lease on our PERRIAM Wānaka store, as our ten-year lease comes to an end.

After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to choose Tarras.

To put our love, energy and creativity into this little village that means so much to me.

It’s the place where I still feel Mum. Where so many of my childhood memories live. And now, where I want to create new memories while holding onto the old ones.

I feel an enormous sense of gratitude to Mum and Dad for creating this place and leaving us something so special to care for.

There is so much we want to do here - but more than anything, we want Tarras Village to be a place with heart. A place to gather, create, slow down and make memories.

It feels like we’re coming home.

And I think Mum would be pretty happy about that. 🤍

All proceeds go to the Cancer Society New Zealand | support, research & advocacy and tickets are $5 each. Remember come buy your ticket from the store.
