🧡 NEXT MONTH’S COMMUNITY KITCHEN IS SUPPORTING PREGNANCY HELP TAUPŌ 🧡

When you visit the Waipahihi Community Marketplace on the 12th of September, make sure you pop into the Community Kitchen for something yummy and help support a great local cause at the same time.

Pregnancy Help Taupo is running the Community Kitchen and raising funds that help keep their services accessible to whānau across our district.

There are a few extra ways you can help too:

🧶 Bring a ball of wool
🧷 Bring a packet of nappies or wipes
🍰 Swap it for a yummy slice of cake!

Pregnancy Help Taupō is also collecting baby clothing, sizes 0–3, so have a look through the cupboards for anything your little ones have outgrown and bring it along.

Come for the market, enjoy a treat and help support local families. 💚

The Community Marketplace at Timebank Community Garden is shaped by whatever locals bring along, which means every market is a little different. You never quite know what you’ll find until you turn up.

Overthinking whether you’ve got enough to sell? You’ve probably got more than you think.

A rack of clothes, a box of kitchen bits, a few books, or some plants from the garden is often enough to fill a stall. You don’t need a huge setup or a trailer load of stuff, just a boot full of things you’re ready to part with.

The Community Marketplace at Timebank Community Garden is as simple as it sounds. Bring a boot load of things you no longer need, set up your space, and see what happens. It’s a place where secondhand finds, plants, produce, and good conversations all end up in the same spot.

Taupō, the next Community Marketplace is on Saturday 30 August.

We’re back at Timebank Community Garden for a good old-fashioned car boot market. Load up the boot with things you no longer need, come hunting for a bargain, or simply wander through the gardens and see what’s on offer. However you turn up, there’s a place for you.

A few snaps from Saturday’s Community Marketplace at Waipahihi Hall.

This was only our third market at the hall, and one thing that keeps standing out is the feedback from stallholders and locals who come through. The support from the Taupō community has been genuinely encouraging, and it’s great to see more people getting involved each month.

Again, a big thank you to everyone who set up a stall, came along for a browse, grabbed a coffee, or stopped for a chat. These markets are all about creating a local space where people can connect, support one another, and keep good things moving through the community.

A special thank you to Misfitz Dance Studio for running the community kitchen and raising funds for new uniforms and their overseas trip. We really appreciate everything you brought to the day.

🍋🌿 THE PRODUCE SWAP IS GROWING!
We had some fantastic fresh produce available to swap at our last Community Marketplace, thanks to Martys Microgreens. Some swaps included lemons and rhubarb. It’s great to see this part of the market starting to take shape.

And a BIG thank you to Awhina Society Trust - Taupō for the amazing contribution of community kai too. The Weet-Bix absolutely flew out the door! There will be plenty of Taupō kids with big smiles on their faces. 💚

As we head towards spring and more gardens start producing, we’re looking forward to seeing what turns up on the Produce Swap table each month.

Got too many lemons? A bumper crop of herbs? More seedlings, fruit or vegetables than you can use?

Bring some along, swap it for something else, and keep good local produce moving around our community.** 🌱

We can’t wait to see how this grows over the next few months.

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR MARKET CREW & STALLHOLDERS 💚

Community markets don’t just happen. They happen because people turn up, pitch in and help create something special.

A huge thank you to Primrose, Gabrielle, Jessica and Jo for all your help at the Community Gardens, and to Kirsteen, who was busy on the sewing machine giving clothing a little extra life through our Market Mending service. 🧵

We really appreciate every one of you. Thank you for giving your time, energy and support to what we are building.

And to all of our stallholders, thank you too!

Quite simply, there wouldn’t be a Community Marketplace without you.

Every time you book a stand, bring along your pre-loved treasures, produce, creations and good energy, you help build the kind of market we want Taupō to have.
