Pt: 2 and this where the inner balance begins. What is tuturu and safe for our environment vs the modern and for me hard to observe as they do not carry tradition in application / harvest / tools and more. But they’re valid they are some peoples only option but they shouldn’t be and I want to remind us our traditional ways are available and not everyone would of been a kakahu weaver and there is a reason behind why they are so prized so cared for so deep in matauranga mana.

Pt: 2 is a mini to all creators of kakahu weather they’re digital, printed, sewn and using non traditional fibres and feathers. I want to stand alongside and support all of us who are helping the reconnection and return to kakahu as taonga for display and to wear. This is my introduction my recognition of my offering and a love for everyone reconnection and deepening their connection. We are all amazing

Intro to why you should book me to weave your forever kakahu. It’s a bit nerve wracking because I want to honour all of our people doing their part to add to our culture and the beauty of all of our offerings.

But also bring awareness to the traditional ways we create the reasons why whakapapa enters these pieces and the parts of our toi that come through in my pieces.
