What a fantastic night we had with Duncan Sarkies ahead of his shows at TAHI 16-19 September at the The Hannah | Theatre & Performance Lab - tell your Wellington friends!

The crowd came along to have a beer with Duncan and were regaled with excerpts from his hilarious.novel Star Gazers. Thank you Duncan for travelling over the Remutakas to see us, and Sam for serenading us!

A big thank you to Featherston Booktown 📚 for your support and Martinborough Brewery for the beers.

We're so lucky to know Mary, she has done such incredible things not just for Featherston Booktown but for Featherston Pae Tū Mōkai as a whole, not to mention the support she has provided to our wee bookshop over the years. You've earned the break Mary, and we can't wait to welcome you into the shop soon!

A local legend, and one of the founding members of Featherston’s iconic Booktown festival is closing her own chapter on the popular annual event.

Heads up to all potential customers coming to Martinborough from elsewhere today and tomorrow. The Waihenga Bridge will be closed from 9am - 3pm Tuesday and Wednesday.

SH53 MARTINBOROUGH – EMERGENCY WORKS

Plan ahead for CLOSURES of the Waihenga River Bridge, 9am to 3pm on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 September. This is to allow slash debris under the bridge itself to be cleared.

Detour via Kahutara Rd and Lake Ferry Rd and allow additional time for travel through the area during these times.

These works are dependent on various factors and may be postponed at short notice. In the event of this an update will be provided in the comment section.

Asher Emanuel chatting with Peter Biggs about his sensational non-fiction bestseller was an incredible evening. Thank you to the packed house who came out to hear a stimulating conversation on the state of the criminal justice in Aotearoa through the lens of the defendants and law staff who live it every day.

Thanks as ever to Ben Dugdale from Martinborough Wine Merchants for easing guests into the evening with a selection of four beautiful wines, and to Featherston Booktown 📚 for their support in being able to put on events like these.

Our next event will see author Duncan Sarkies share excerpts and laughs from his it novel Star Gazers on Friday 11th September.

Thank you to everyone who sunk their teeth into Noelle and Melissa's conversation on Stakes and the gothic. Thank you to all of the guests and the two speakers for their calm response to a medical incident during the kōrero, and to the medically trained audience members who were so quick to render assistance. Part 2 of the event will be rescheduled for a November date to be confirmed.
