Ordinary Time...not what you think

Ordinary Time is not empty time. It is the long, faithful stretch of days where God meets and forms us in the everyday contours of our lives. After the high celebrations of Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost - and before we move again into Advent’s waiting, the Church calendar invites us to notice what is always true: Jesus is with us in our ordinary lives.

This is the season of growth that is often unseen where the slow work of God is taking place. Like seeds germinating in soil or roots deepening beneath the surface, faith is formed in the quiet repetition of ordinary days. We are not asked to strive for spiritual spectacle, but to become attentive - to love God in the small things, to notice His presence in what is simple, familiar and often unremarkable. To the holiness hidden in everyday life.

Ordinary Time gently teaches us that nothing is wasted: conversations at the kitchen table, our commute, the work that no one notices, waiting - all of it can become the place where God meets us.

What honest prayer rises up in you today in the midst of your ordinary day today?
