Bound & Wrapped

Bound & Wrapped Take the hassle out of choosing from your TBR and swipe right on a Blind Date with a Book instead.

It's tiiiiiime! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿซ€ I ๐–‘๐–”๐–›๐–Š spooky szn; the darker aesthetic, slipping into creepier books, dressing up & Halloween everything... I am a creature very easily influenced by a theme and have absolutely no intention of changing ๐Ÿ˜‚

Every year I try to find something new and suitably spooky to read, so this year I've taken it one step further and found one for each of you too! I've curated 12 spooky book recs that I feel match the vibes of each birth month - swipe through to find yours & let me know if I've matched you with something you've already read, or if your rec is about to find its way onto the TBR ๐Ÿ‘€

And maybe save this one for later because 1. spooky TBR inspiration and 2. when ๐•ญ๐–”๐–”๐–๐–Š๐–‰ & ๐•ญ๐–”๐–”'๐–‰ makes its return, you may recognise a few of these lurking in the Halloween candidate pool... ๐Ÿ˜‰๐ŸŽƒ

I've made the dangerous mistake of browsing books again and these are currently sitting in my cart. So before I inevitably convince myself that I need all of them... influence me...OR de-influence me! ๐Ÿซ€

Have you read any? Is there one I NEED to get, or one that absolutely isn't worth it? Even better, do you have a secondhand copy sitting on your shelf that you'd be willing to part with?

So the candidate pool is filling up a little slower these days, but we're getting there!

Bound & Wrapped co actually started as a creative outlet and a slightly questionable way of funding my own book-buying habits - I'd buy a book, read it, wrap it up for a blind date, sell it, then immediately use that money to buy more books. A perfectly sustainable ecosystem for a TBR harlot, really ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‰

Somewhere along the way this little hobby also became part of how we fundraised to bring our little dude home, and I'll forever be grateful to everyone in these social halls who bought a blind date, shared a post, placed an order or simply stuck around while life got a whole lot busier๐Ÿซ€

So here's a little Flatlay Friday of some deluxe candidates I've finally managed to get dressed and ready for matchmaking.

๐––๐–”๐–™๐–‰: how did you first find Bound & Wrapped - books recs, blind dates, adoption, or have you just been lurking here so long neither of us remembers? ๐Ÿ˜‚

The first two in The Faithful and the Fallen series, and we're talking ancient prophecies, warring kingdoms, giants, betrayal and a whole cast of characters scattered across the Banished Lands as everything slowly starts going to s**t.

Basically, proper chunky epic fantasy where you settle in knowing you're going to be here for a while ๐Ÿ˜…

And can we also have a moment of appreciation for The Broken Binding and these stunning editions?!

Are you doing anything suitably bookish to celebrate today? I'm currently curled up in front of the fire with my beta read, listening to the rain outside and making damn sure I get my money's worth from both the mortgage AND the power bill ๐Ÿ˜‚

Books have always been one of my favourite ways to connect, whether it's finding yourself amongst fictional characters or finding your kind of people in the social halls. I just don't think you can beat a crispy paperback and having like-minded people to yap about it with๐Ÿซ€

Can you guess this week's candidate from the emojis? I've been doing some rather ruthless deshelving lately, which means a suspicious amount of dark romance has found its way into the candidate pool... and this one certainly has one or two things to confess.
