Today we pause to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of all those who served and continue to serve on ANZAC Day.

We will be operating respectfully until 2.30pm when we will head to the Mercury Bay Rugby Club to cheer on our boys as they go to battle on the field. See you there.

Good luck to all the anglers in the Te Rerenga School fishing comp today….tight lines 🎣

The sun is shining.... it's 5 knots at 10am tomorrow... we are a GO for fishing competition!! 🥳🥳

The timings you need to remember....
Lines in from 5am.
Weigh in at Whangapoua Fire Station from 3pm - 4pm.
Prize giving at Whangapoua Fire Station from 5pm.

The seafood chowder & fry bread are being made ... the lanyards are printed ... the cash is waiting to be won ... raffle tickets to buy and spot prizes galore !! We are ready to host Te Rerenga School PTA's first fishing competition, woo.

Buy your seafood chowder, raffle tickets and drinks whilst you watch the fish being weighed in and wait to claim your prize. Please bring CASH for the raffles, we will have EFTPOS at our food area.

Burley Bombs sponsored by 'The Bait Guy' will be placed at the Wharf to help our keen anglers catch the winner.

PRODUCTION CREW WANTED – The Bait Guy – Whitianga

We’re hiring.

The Bait Guy is looking for someone strong and reliable to join our production team.

This is not a cruisy retail job. It’s physical, hands-on work in a bait and berley enviroment. If you don’t like early starts, sharp knives, fish frames and hard graft – this isn’t for you!

The role:
• Casual position – 30+ hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• Filleting fish
• Packing and labelling bait
• Making berley
• Cleaning and keeping the workspace tight.

You must:
• Turn up on time, every time.
• Be available consistently Monday to Friday
• Be physically fit and able to work on your feet.
• Handle knives safely (or be willing to learn properly)
• Work fast without cutting corners.
• Not melt when it gets busy.

The role suits someone who wants solid hours and steady work – not someone just filling time between other plans.
