Garlic Butter Steak with Creamy Pasta
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp butter
4 garlic cloves (smashed)
Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
Salt and black pepper
For the Pasta:
250g spaghetti, fettuccine, or penne
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
3 garlic cloves (minced)
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
½ cup pasta water (reserved)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions:
1. Cook the pasta
Boil salted water and cook pasta until al dente.
Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain.
2. Cook the steak
Pat steaks dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high.
Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side (for medium-rare).
Add butter, garlic cloves, and herbs. Spoon the melted butter over the steak (“baste”) for flavor.
Remove from pan, let rest 5 minutes, then slice.
3. Make creamy pasta
In the same pan (remove excess oil but keep steak drippings for flavor), add olive oil or butter.
Sauté garlic until fragrant.
Pour in heavy cream and simmer for 2 minutes.
Stir in Parmesan cheese. Add pasta water if too thick.
Toss in the cooked pasta until well coated. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Serve
Plate pasta, top with sliced steak, drizzle with garlic butter from the pan, and sprinkle parsley.
👉 Optional: Add mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes to the pasta for extra flavor.
