📌𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
Eli comes from the Levi tribe where priests come from. This tribe was set apart to serve the Lord through priesthood and such legacy is passed down from generation to generation.
Then came Eli, a priests and his two sons, Hophni and Phinehas who are also both in the service of the Lord.
Yet heritage doesn't always guarantee righteousness.
His two sons grew up knowing the ways of the Lord, His instructions and all the things concerning servitude.
But their greeds and human nature took away the sanctity of service and have let their desires outweigh the authority of the Lord.
Despite warnings and rebukes, they went on with their ways and their heart hardened to listen.
Their disobedience caused them to sin against God. Their disobedience is not due to the lack of knowledge in God’s ways. But it was knowing full well but still blatantly following their own will and desires.
Hence, this brought judgment to their house and resulted to their deaths and their descendants would die before old age.
What was what their family once automatically entitled now was taken from them. Should they desire to be in service again, they must now seek from someone’s approval.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. 𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿.
𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁. 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲.
He will entrust but will also hold us accountable for all the gifts, responsibilities and privileges to serve for these are not personal rights but are only held on stewardship.
