Post Malone brought the most expensive Magic: The Gathering card in existence to a game table that had already survived at least one drink spill, pulled it out of its protective slab, and put it into play.

The appearance came on Game Knights, The Command Zone’s actual play series, three years after he paid $2 million for it. Wizards of the Coast printed exactly one serialized 001/001 copy of The One Ring in its 2023 Lord of the Rings set. A Toronto retail worker named Brook Trafton found it in a pack and sold it to him.

His copy is printed in Sindarin, the Elvish language Tolkien invented. Tournament rules permit decks containing multiple languages, so it was legal.

The card grants its controller protection from everything until their next turn, then charges a life every upkeep afterward. He played it, quoted the books, and won the four-way game.

It is banned in Modern. Commander still allows it.
