What is Fragrance Pyramid?
- Perfumes notes has an individual layers that makes up the fragrance, which has 3 Phases: Top Notes, Heart or Middle Notes, and Base Notes.
Phase 1 : Top Notes (5-15 minutes)
- These are the scents that you will smell upon spraying/applying the perfume. Top Notes creates first impression on a perfume/fragrance, they are usually sharp and light, but also evaporates the fastest.
Phase 2 : Heart or Middle Notes (20 minutes-60 minutes)
- After the top notes evaporate, Heart or Middle Notes begins to emerge. This is where the perfume/fragrance form its main personality. Middle Notes will bloom as your body heat warms the liquid, revealing how the perfume will actually smell for the rest of the day.
Phase 3 : Base Notes (60 minutes-12+ hours)
- Base Notes or also called as the foundation, appears after the Heart Notes evaporates, these notes are usually for longevity and depth of a fragrance/perfume.
