Sassy Sunshine Homeschool

Sassy Sunshine Homeschool Gentle homeschool • mom of 2 • learning peace through exhaustion I’m a stay-at-home mom homeschooling my eight-year-old and my three-year-old at home together.

Sassy Sunshine is a quiet space for mothers homeschooling children of different ages while still growing in motherhood themselves. Our days hold reading lessons, picture books, toddler interruptions, nature walks, snacks, emotions, and many chances to begin again. Some days are calm. Some days I’m overstimulated and exhausted before noon. Some days I need a reset before my children do. Here you’ll

find encouragement for:
• Charlotte Mason homeschooling
• Homeschooling multiple ages together
• Early years learning beside formal lessons
• Postpartum rage, exhaustion, and emotional overload
• Gentle routines after hard mornings
• Learning through living books & nature

This is not a perfect homeschool. This is a lived-in home where the mother is learning too. We believe:
Children are born persons
Mothers are persons too
Education is an atmosphere, a discipline, and a life
Peace in the home often begins with the parent calming first

If you’re trying to teach different ages at the same time while managing your own emotions — you belong here.

Some seasons of motherhood feel like survival.

You finish the day unsure what mattered.

I needed something to anchor my days,
so I wrote what I wish I had during that time.

If you’re in that season too,
I quietly made it available.

Some days motherhood doesn’t feel hard because of the children.

It feels hard because your mind never becomes quiet.

You wake up already carrying conversations in your head.
Things you need to teach.
Meals to plan.
Attitudes to correct.
Laundry waiting.
Work you’re trying to build.

And even when the house becomes silent — your thoughts don’t.

I used to think I needed more discipline to pray daily.

But what I actually needed was someone to speak first when I had no words.

Faith feels heavy when it always depends on your strength to begin it.

What part of the day feels spiritually the most empty lately?

I used to wake up already anxious.

Not because there was too much to do —
but because I didn’t know where to start.

Simple structure removed so much mental noise.

I didn’t create rhythms because I’m organized.

I created them because I was overwhelmed.

Predictable days gave us peace
more than perfect plans ever did.

Our home didn’t change when I became more productive.

It changed when I became calmer.

Peace teaches children more than perfection ever could.

I reheated my coffee three times today.

Not because I forgot.

Because someone needed me each time.

Motherhood is constantly being interrupted —
and somehow that is the work itself.

You are not behind.

You are raising humans,
not completing tasks.

Growth cannot be rushed,
and neither can childhood.

Honest question:

Do you rest when your kids rest?

Or is that the only time you finally catch up on life?

There are days motherhood feels invisible.

But faith grows quietly.

Seeds don’t make noise while becoming trees.

Neither do faithful days.

The biggest change in our homeschool:

I stopped trying to finish lessons.

I started stopping early instead.

Now learning feels like discovery,
not endurance.

24/02/2026

Today’s homeschool lesson lasted 12 minutes.

We stopped because interest was still there.

And for the first time,
my child asked to continue tomorrow.

Learning grows better when it isn’t forced to the end.
