“CREATURE FEATURE was my happiest lab accident. I had initially wanted to make the scent of a monster from the depths of the forest, but my first draft smelled… cool, dapper, gentle. Like the breath of a smoker sucking on a cherry candy. I loved it so much that I kept it!

CREATURE opens with the scent of a forest at night, glistening with rain. As you enter the forest, the aroma of the elusive queen of the night fills your lungs, beckoning you deeper. You reach a mossy clearing as the mysterious figure emerges from the trees. Who are they? What do they want?”

"FOREVER (ON THE CREST OF A WAVE) is my most experimental yet. It opens with an oceanic orange blossom bouquet dripping with honey. Not long after, dread sets in: burning, destruction. Then, melancholy; immortelle, amber, singed hay, musks.

Inspired by the 2023 novel The Bee Sting by Paul Murray—one of the best books I’ve read in recent memory—FOREVER, at its core, is the scent of grief. It’s a symphony/cacophony of disparate notes, in the same way grief is a heap of messy emotions dressed in a trench coat. I’m glad I made it work."

“Underpinning TEMPLE AT DAWN is a contradiction: a hyperstylized cup of coffee inspired by the quietest time of day. It opens with cold morning air blowing over lilac groves, mixing with the aroma of incense cinders of the previous day. A pot of coffee is brewing in the kitchen.

This is the scent of the electric state of mind one inhabits at dawn; of the death of one day and the birth of another; of freefall. Wear it when the veil is thinnest.”

"SUMMER CANNIBALS is a green, floral, fruity, and animalic beast. It opens with my interpretation of a dewy, verdant flower garden, then saunters into a heart that is exceptionally fruity. The gnarly essence of passionfruit, mangoes, and raspberries is captured—seeds and all. Finally it climaxes in a symphony of lipstick, oud, and musk.

Inspired by Melanie Hobson's 2018 novel of the same name, SUMMER CANNIBALS is my attempt to capture the scent of intense, all-consuming love. Not for the faint of heart."

"KIDS ON THE SLOPE is our modern spin on the classic cologne profile—tons of citrus (KIDS is almost 19% Calabrian bergamot!), a touch of jasmine, and a bed of musks. Incense and vetiver round it out.

With KIDS, I wanted to evoke memories of childhood and innocence, of half-forgotten worlds we look back on fondly but can never return to."
