Hi, it's been a week since Tanabata Festival - my first ever convention boothing experience.
My highschool self would be stoked and won't believe that one of her biggest dreams would finally come true. My 2025 self would gladly color a specific box in her bingo card. I don't have it this year, but I am still glad I got to do this.
To be very honest, the experience was bittersweet. Why? It was partly the weather and partly me.
Thing is, my mind was constantly juggling the ideas of what if my dorm got flooded and what would I do if it did and I am in an event. I was constantly checking my phone, monitoring announcements for our barangay. On the second day, I thought of not coming at all because of the weather condition and the critical levels of the nearby river. Thankfully, Alexy prepped my side of the booth even though I wasn't there and even managed to sell some of my stuff. When I saw a window of opportunity, I still went even though I am late. The other part was me not being able to profit from the event and had negatives as well. I overproduced stocks and got sad when my new releases were untouched.
The sweet side - I was able to make new friends (Hi Shenanigans!), see my irl friends, got to meet and talk to amazing cosers and fellow Hunters and Travelers. Had the best time being boothmates with Papillonieee. Honestly, I get to forget the stresses of the outside world when we talk about things amidst the loud sound system and vocal fry screams. Sometimes we just laugh at each other because we can't comprehend what we are saying anymore. Thank you sissy for letting me booth with you and for the help, support and guidance!
I still got a lot to learn when it comes to boothing at conventions. I thought this is hard blow for a first time, but atleast we got something out of it yeah?
Special kudos to myself for handling this well than expected. My soulmates know of this.
