It started with two missed calls in a row—both from an unfamiliar number registered in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). Stared at the screen, hesitant. Scam numbers were common these days and international ones felt even more suspicious. Decided not to answer, thinking it was just another unwanted pitch or fraud attempt.
Minutes later, a text message popped up from the same number. It was short, urgent, and sounded shaky.
Feeling confuse, it could still be a trick—but what if it wasn’t? The tone wasn’t pushy or demanding like most scams; it sounded desperate, like someone far away worrying about family left behind.
We can’t ignore this. Our driver headed to the address to check if it’s real and if they really need help.
When he came back, his voice was relieved. "It’s a valid address, ma’am. The gate is open a crack, and only a kid inside handed him the water containers. They’ve run out of clean drinking water since yesterday, and they can’t carry heavy containers themselves."
Moral Lesson: Sometimes what looks like a suspicious call might just be someone’s cry for help from miles away. We’re glad we chose to check—because delivering water isn’t just business… sometimes it’s being there when people need it most. 💧
