10 peso vegetable program of the province of Benguet to aid the Vegetable farmers

10 Piso Para Sa Farmer Program

The purpose of this group is to help our farmers who have vegetables that are "NOT" going to be bought at Trading Post or BAPTC due to LOW PRICE, or even if the price is good but there are NO BUYERS.

1. We offer to buy vegies at 10 PESOS PER Kilo as FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE for our farmers.

2. Vegetables are to be given as RELIEF GOODS.

3. For buyers/sponsors with vehicles, pick up point is at Cold Chain Wangal, La Trinidad.

4. For delivery from Wangal Cold Chain to any point of destination, a transportation fee will be shouldered by the sponsors. Within Baguio/Benguet (minimum of 500 kgs), fee is 1.50 pesos per kilo. Nearby provinces outside Baguio/Benguet (minimum of 3,000 kilos), fee is 2.50 pesos per kilo. This is subject to the availability of vehicles and drivers.

5. Sponsored goods will be paid upon delivery. Goods without sponsors, payment will be given "within" 15 days from delivery. But advance payment will be given as much as half of the total price of delivery.

6. Free lunch for the drivers and their helpers will be provided at the Cold Chain.

7. Note, we will transact only with farmers. No traders or middlemen. Wala sanang magsamantala na magnegosyo rito. Nasa crisis po tayo. Besides, the people working at the Cold Chain Wangal are all VOLUNTEERS.

👉With this cause, we welcome sponsors for the funds needed to buy the goods. Rest assured that names of sponsors or donors will be acknowledged sooner or later, on social media and other ways.

With the Enhanced Community Quarantine, we are limiting our deliveries to only 15 customers/day. We assure our buyers that we practice proper food handling and sanitation.

We are aware that some farmers are selling their produce for a very low price in the market. These farmers need more help today. They are harvesting hectares of lands in La Trinidad and are only getting paid very low.

We, at Highland Greens Grocer are also supporting local farmers within Baguio City that does not have much production like those of the commercial farms. They too, are greatly affected by the situation.

Our strawberries are a product of Good Agricultural Practice based on semi-organic farming. With this, we can not possibly bring down prices for the meantime. All our produce are harvested in the morning, packed and delivered the same day to maintain freshness and quality.

We are closely working with our farmers to make sure their produce are sold and not wasted. It is also suggested that we support them through fair purchase and selling.

Highland Greens Grocer is already in talks with some farmers in La Trinidad to support them by selling their produce through our Digital Marketing Channels.

At Highland Greens Grocer, we offer sweet charlie strawberries. Our farms are located in different parts of Baguio City and Benguet.
We understand that going to crowds today are discouraged, thus, free delivery will be given for a minimum order of 1 kilo.
