🦴🔬 Grade 2 Science | Lesson 1: The Human Body

Assalam-o-Alaikum! 🌸

Today we started our Grade 2 Science – Lesson 1, where we explored the amazing human skeleton, bones, and joints! 🦴✨

📚 Book: Oxford International Primary Science by Nicholas Horsburgh – Oxford University Press
📖 We also used the Teaching Guide to support our lesson.

For our hands-on learning, I printed a worksheet from the Teaching Guide. The children had to identify and label different joints on the skeleton and answer related questions.

To make the lesson more fun and interactive, I also created some riddle cards! 🧩
One side has a riddle and the other side reveals the answer—the organ or bone structure being described. This made the learning more engaging and encouraged the kids to think and guess before checking the answer. 💭❤️

For Lesson 1, we focused only on the skeleton and joints, so we completed the skeleton/joints activity and saved the remaining questions for later.

➡️ Lesson 2 & 3: We’ll continue exploring body organs and the five senses. 👀👂👃👅✋

I love combining our textbook with printables + hands-on activities + games because it makes homeschooling more interactive and memorable! 🌈
