⚠️ Most pilgrims walk past these brown stones without realizing their story.
At the base of the Kaaba, there are 8 small brown marble pieces placed along the white marble platform 🤍
This area is traditionally known as “Musalla Jibril.”
According to Islamic narrations and historical tradition, this is believed to be the place where Angel Jibril عليه السلام taught the Prophet ﷺ the prayer times and movements of salah after Isra’ Mi’raj
The brown marble itself is also special.
Historical sources mention these stones are a rare type of marble known as “Mary Stone,” and they were reportedly gifted to Masjid al-Haram by the Abbasid Caliph Abu Ja‘far al-Mansur.
But important to understand carefully:
There is NO authentic hadith or Qur’an verse directly naming these stones as “Musalla Jibril.”
This identification comes from historical narrations and traditional accounts passed down through generations — not from a direct explicit text.
Still… millions walk past this quiet place every year without noticing the meaning traditionally connected to it.
