80% occupancy. Guests who can choose between cottages, a hostel, and domes — always choose the domes.

These are Sverrir’s numbers. He built Golden Circle Domes in Iceland with FDomes structures a few years ago. We flew out to hear what running them actually looks like — after the launch, after the first winter, after hundreds of guests.
In this interview, he answers the questions every glamping investor eventually asks:

Is it profitable? What breaks? What do guests remember? Would you do it again?

His answers are specific, unfiltered, and occasionally funny — including his take on mice, insects, and Icelandic winters that we didn’t script and wouldn’t have thought to ask for.

At the end of the conversation, Sverrir said he wants to build the most spectacular glamping resort in Iceland. We want to help him get there.

Welcome to our latest completed project in Livigno 🇮🇹

We believe a structure should converse with its environment. Just as nature builds with geometry, our interior features a custom mosaic of single plywood triangles 📐

Why this finish? By rejecting flat, seamless walls in favor of this tessellated wooden skin, we turned a simple geodesic shape into a warm, living environment. It is the ultimate cozy refuge against the raw beauty of the high mountains.
