Before cavalry rode into battle, their boots had to survive long hours in the saddle, mud, rain and hard ground.
This is one of those moments from the workshop
hand pe***ng a leather sole using wooden pegs.
Each hole is made individually. Each peg is cut by hand and driven in one by one.
As the wood dries, it expands inside the leather, locking all layers together.
It creates a sole that is durable, flexible and fully repairable exactly how cavalry and military footwear was made centuries ago.
These techniques are slow.
They exist for a reason.
I make footwear inspired by historical cavalry, LARP and reenactment — built to be worn, used and tested in real conditions, not just looked at.
