ania cringe is the solo project of Ania Włodarczyk – a producer, vocalist, and guitarist who has been active on the Polish independent music scene for over 10 years (currently also part of the band Cudowne Lata, which she formed with her life partner Amina). Ania produces and records in her home studio in Warsaw.
The ania cringe project is a tribute to dance music (90s dance and eurodance, house, disco polo) and rave culture. ania cringe’s concerts are a dance explosion. Her expressive style, energy, dance, strong vocal parts, and connection with the audience bring smiles of joy and carefree fun. Divisions disappear, and music becomes the most important thing.
The album POLO DANCE was released in March 2024.
The album’s release was preceded by several singles:
• “dorobić się” – echoes the native Polish dance music scene from 30 years ago,
• “ja lubię cię” – with its house vibe and street dance video shot in Kraków, captured hearts on YouTube.
In January 2024, the single “nie bój się” was released – an indie dance song about q***r love between ania cringe and a vampire. The song was featured on Spotify Poland’s GLOW playlist.
Next came “dziękuję nie piję” – already a cult favorite among fans – an anthem for teetotalers.
The album also includes the manifesto-song “bądź moją żoną”, the Arabic music-inspired “arabski książę”, a collaboration with indie scene artist Małgola, No – “zgrana para”, and the dreamy house track “zatańcz z nami”.
Currently, ania cringe is working on more hits and her second album.
