The Organising Committee of the GCC Games Doha 2026 has unveiled “Washeq” as the official mascot of the Games, inspired by the desert caracal.
The Games are set to take place in Doha from May 11 to 22, 2026.

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior announced that social events, including weddings and funeral gatherings, may be held in outdoor spaces, beginning Wednesday, March 25.

MoI said the announcement comes in the interest of public safety, based on continuous assessment of the situation by competent authorities. The Ministry emphasized compliance with security and safety regulations and urged avoiding any practices that could endanger individuals or the community.



أعلنت وزارة الداخلية القطرية أنه يُسمح بإقامة الفعاليات الاجتماعية، بما في ذلك حفلات الزفاف ومجالس العزاء، في الأماكن المفتوحة ابتداءً من يوم الأربعاء 25 مارس. وأوضحت الوزارة أن هذا القرار يأتي حرصاً على السلامة العامة، وبناءً على التقييم المستمر للوضع من قبل الجهات المختصة. وشددت الوزارة على ضرورة الالتزام باللوائح والتعليمات الأمنية والسلامة، داعيةً إلى تجنب أي ممارسات قد تعرض الأفراد أو المجتمع للخطر.
