Not sped up. Not filtered.
Just real-time brushwork, captured as it happened.
This is part of my Islamic illumination series, each petal painted slowly by hand, using gold pigment named after the sun god Ra. On black paper, the contrast is striking, but also unforgiving. Every line requires stillness. Calm hands.
It’s not the kind of artwork you rush.

And when the light moves across it, it rewards your attention.
This piece, like all my work, is available for bespoke licensing or direct purchase. If you're curating meaningful gifts or looking to add a refined visual language to your space or brand, feel free to message me directly.

Work in progress 🖌️ Today’s piece uses a traditional illumination pigment called Ra, named after the Egyptian sun god, laid carefully onto deep black Stonehenge coldpressed paper. The contrast is striking. The gold holds the light, and reflects it back with such warmth, it stops you in your tracks.
The black paper is unforgiving when working with such high-contrast pigment. Every brushstroke demands a steady hand, which means the work calls for complete calm. The paper is so unforgiving, even my heartbeat matters. If it’s too fast, the pulse travels down my arm, to my hand, just enough to disrupt the line. There’s no margin for error but that’s part of what makes the process so intentional, and meditative. You'll know that every geometric artwork I create has only the calmest energy being poured into its creation.

It’s one of the reasons why I’m drawn to these traditional materials and techniques. They invite a presence and calm in a complex and precise geometric form.

Rays of light stretched across my studio this week…
Falling softly on gold pigment named for the sun god Ra.
A pigment steeped in tradition — used for centuries in the art of Islamic illumination.
This particular piece didn’t rush to be made.
It asked for stillness.
It asked for light.
And only when the two aligned, could the brush move.
I’ll share more of the process soon — but for now, here’s the moment that brought everything together.
When the gold met the sun.

Earlier this month, one of my bespoke artworks was presented to four Saudi royals, under the patronage of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Emir of the Makkah Region.
Commissioned as a branded piece for a corporate client, the artwork was translated onto porcelain and gifted at a high-level event that reflects both tradition and forward vision.
It’s a privilege to contribute to moments like this, where art becomes a bridge between brand, culture, and legacy.
Thank you to the client who trusted me to carry their message across every detail, and to the hands that brought the porcelain version to life.
This is the kind of work I love: where story, symbolism, and strategy align.

This piece may look invisible at first glance… but catch it in the light, and the geometry begins to glow.

I’m using modern interference pigments to reimagine the ancient art of Islamic illumination (tazhib), a delicate process that once adorned manuscripts and sacred texts. Here, the tradition is preserved but approached with a fresh hand, using contemporary materials and subtle shifts in color and light.

These are the kinds of details I bring to corporate artwork and luxury gifts for clients who want more than decoration. They want meaning. History. Something that reflects both identity and innovation.

This is just the beginning of a new metallic series. Let me know what you think.

Here’s the finished artwork ✨ a geometric flower painted in shimmering gold and dusty rose-gold, glowing with light as the petals shift in colour depending on how you view them.

This one is especially striking in natural sunlight; a perfect original to brighten a home or office space.

For KAUST residents and collectors in Saudi Arabia, this piece is available directly. DM me if you’d like to reserve it or commission with bespoke colors.

Leap into the world of the extraordinary Euphrates Jerboa with our latest addition to the Arabian Wildlife collection 🌟🐾. This small but mighty creature, measuring between 230-310mm in length, showcases nature’s ingenuity through its unique adaptations to the harsh desert environment of Saudi Arabia, especially within semi-deserts and dry grasslands.

Did you know? The Euphrates Jerboa can leap distances of up to three meters in a single bound, they leap in a zigzag pattern and reach speeds of up to 24 kilometers per hour! 🏃‍♂️💨 These remarkable abilities make it a master of survival in the vast and varied landscapes it calls home.

In crafting this series, we aspire to bridge the gap between art and environmental conservation, providing a visual platform to raise awareness about species that are crucial to our ecological fabric yet are on the brink of becoming overlooked.

We invite conservationists, wildlife enthusiasts, and art lovers to join us in this journey of awareness and appreciation. Let’s collaborate to bring the stories of our planet’s hidden gems to light. Interested in featuring this series in your organization? Let’s connect.

Share this with someone who stands for wildlife conservation and art for a cause. Together, we can make a difference. 🌍💫
