𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐀, 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit has formally assented to the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS), 2018, (Amendment 2026), clearing the legal pathway for the conduct of South Sudan's national elections scheduled for December 2026.

The presidential assent marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement by removing the legal provisions that had previously linked the conduct of elections to the completion of the permanent constitution-making process and the national population census.

Marial Wau community and Apuk community leaders briefed the Hon. Sharif Daniel Sharif, Governor of WBGS, on ongoing peace initiatives.

Marial Wau community leader Hon. Valentino Majok Majok and Gen. Gergory Vasili, representing the Apuk community, briefed the governor on the key elements they have agreed on in ending the communal conflicts between the two communities.

Therefore, the committee has agreed on both sides to go to the grassroots level to bring youth together, urging them to demonstrate peace and harmony among themselves.
Moreover, the committee has called on both governors, Warrap and WBGS, to impose the rule of law and bring criminals to justice.
Marial Wau community and Apuk community have family connections. So, it's crucial to exercise peace and social coexistence on both sides.
The committee assured all citizens that border issues are a matter for the national government, not a state government.

JUBA — South Sudan's boxing community celebrated the nation's 15th Independence Anniversary with an exciting Boxing Championship that brought together some of the country's best male and female fighters in Juba.

The championship produced a series of entertaining contests as athletes displayed determination, discipline, and skill in pursuit of victory. Outstanding performers were rewarded with medals, trophies, and cash prizes for their achievements.

Addressing participants and spectators, South Sudan Boxing Federation President Tereza Athian Abdulbagi urged greater investment in boxing, stressing that the sport has the potential to transform the lives of young people and raise South Sudan's profile on the international stage.

Central Equatoria State Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudu welcomed 17-year-old Angelina Juan Alberto to his office, allowing her to briefly sit in the Deputy Governor's chair as a gesture of inspiration and encouragement for future leadership.

Lukudu said the symbolic act was meant to motivate the young student to work hard toward achieving her leadership ambitions.
