Pop up at .co 2 weeks back. (Do check them out if you're looking for event space!)

In the time I was away, the littlest couldn't nap, got overtired, and cried for a whole hour. And the guilt is real 😪

It'll probably be a while before our next pop-up, so in the meanwhile, it's back to shipping your orders to you.

A beautiful story of exploration, of courage, and of keeping the memories alive.

'When they say an elephant never forgets, what they mean is, an elephant never forgets to look after their family.'

It was nostalgic when my newly minted 7-year old took this out and said that she loved this book. I almost forgot we have this too.

It's part of a series of short stories with colourful illustration, making it inviting to young readers. They used to be all published in hardback, but now most titles are in paperback.

Wanted to introduce these books for new readers transitioning to early chapter books, but realised I couldn't find most of the titles from NLB anymore 😭

Went for the book launch of Endangered Animals of South East Asia at yesterday.

Researched and written by , beautifully and accurately illustrated by , and published by .

The book highlighted 10 critically endangered species from Southeast Asia, and a few of them can be found in our Mandai Wildlife Park as well. Great as gifts for animal lovers young and old!

I've been enjoying many verse novels, but they don't spark much joy for my kids. So I was really excited when I got this from !

There's 5 chapters, for 5 different style of poetry.

Each chapter uses a story to introduce a type of poetry and ends off with a little guide on how children can write their own poetry too.

It's not to be used as an 'assessment book'. Though it encourages children to be creative, to think out of the box, and to just fun with words! Bottomline: just have fun with no KPI.

Thanks for sending this over, and I'll look at making this available too!

There's You and there's Me, the main characters of the book.

They're wild, and sometimes nonsensical beyond reason. Off they go on an epic adventure, one that's beyond your wildest imagination.

It's sometimes witty, sometimes so ridiculous that it's funny. The illustrations are so out-of-the-world, so illogical, but also so fun.

It's definitely not my usual genre, but it was fun to read. I love how it forces me to put away my logical side and just have fun with the book. To laugh along, and probably also roll my eyes along with the characters.

Yes, there's many educational and academically benefits to reading. But reading just for pleasure, for pure fun, is great too!

Thanks for the book! It was a great stress relief for me, and one for laugh for the kids. Perfect for reluctant readers or those who find a full page of words intimidating.

Ps: The word 'suckers' is used about 3-4 times. In case that's a concern for you.

Love that goes beyond saying 'I love you.'

And love that is found in the little mundane acts.

A beautiful local picture book that explores the abstract nature of love. And I love that it allowed me to have interesting conversation with my kids about love.

Recommended age: 3 years old and up, because love is for everyone 💕

Five teens, invisible and overlooked.

They stuck their neck out,
And made a difference,
Because they cared enough.
Enough to do what they believe was right.

They stepped out of their own comfort zone.
Confront how they saw themselves,
And broke free from the labels given to them.

'How can you see yourself when no one sees the real you?'

Recommended age: 9 years old and above

My second time reading this book and it still gets to me. Every time.

The book follows the life of Omar and his younger brother Hassan (originally from Somalia) as they grow up in a refugee camp in Kenya.

Resources were limited and hunger was the norm. Life in the refugee camp was filled with constant waiting. Waiting for the civil war in Somalia to end, waiting for food and water, waiting for the opportunity to start afresh beyond the camp.

A real life story of endless resilience and hope. And a realisation of how privileged we are.

Recommended age: 9 years old and above
