It is enjoying global renewal of interest through its fine shawls, stoles and ready to wear. Since the late 1980s, BIN house began making its own interpretation of batik, the famous wax-resist dyeing technique from the island of Java. It has now become a Bin House trademark of producing hand-made silk batiks of the highest quality. BIN house today runs a tight operation of several workshops in West and Central Java, Indonesia, producing approximately 20,000 meters of hand-made
cloth per month. BIN house Indonesian Creation has become a brand-name synonymous with fine fabrics with its network of retail establishments in Jakarta, Bali, Singapore, and Japan. Indeed, by learning from the past, and bringing it into the present, Obin and the artisans from BIN house have managed to rejuvenate ancient cottage industries and brought it alive and well into the 21st century.
