This 🔵8 took me too many tries that I lost count. 😭 That’s why I’m not really sure if it’s 46 attempts to stick the dynamic toe hook switch. Just getting into the starting position took at least half of my attempts. My shoes’ toe rubber was destroyed by the endless dynamic toe hooks. 😢 Even the hard last move took at least 3 tries to figure out. 😞 I think I stayed on this route for 2.5 hours. ⏰

😉 So glad there are alternate betas for the start.

☀️ This week’s animation is looooong. 🕰 It took us so much time but it’s so worth it. 🏆 We drew 10 to 30 frames every day after work for the whole week. 🗓 As the video isn’t very sharp, we had to guess what to draw for certain frames. ✌🏻 Hope it isn’t too far off. ✍🏻 We’ve also edited Kokoro’s walk after the top to make the loop. 📱

🪨 This is M1 Men’s Boulder Final in World Championships 2021 in Moscow. 🎬 Flashed by . 💥 When all the other competitors before him didn’t even make it pass the second hold, we thought the route must be overcooked. 🥘 Then Kokoro came out and proofed us all wrong. 💪🏻 He made the climb looked almost easy. 🥇 That’s why he’s the Boulder World Champion 2021. 🥇 And 13th in Lead. 👏🏼

✍🏻 We wanted to animate a route from . But we also wanted something different from the usual coordination and dyno style comp route. 🎨 And we’re not ready to animate a slow moving slab route as it’ll probably take forever to draw all the frames. ⏰

🧐 So… what else but B4 in Men’s Qualifications in 🇯🇵 Tokyo 2020. It starts with the climber facing the front, followed by a 🦇 bat-hang and then a crack. 🪨 Awesomeness! 👏🏼

🎬 Only three climbers sent it. 🎉 This is an animation of topping it with ease. 💪🏻 We very sorry that we simplified his t-shirt 👕 design as it’s really difficult to draw. 😞

Sorry, we forgot to post these animations on Facebook for our non-Instagram friends...
🕰 As we had less free time this weekend, we wanted to animated a faster and shorter climb. ✍🏻 As we wanted to loop the animation, we needed a video with a stable camera angle of the full send without cutting away. 🔦 So it took us a while to find this from one of our favourite climbers that we follow on IG. 🔍

🥈 This is M2 Men’s Semi-final in IFSC World Cup in Meiringen 2021. 🎬 Sent by .yoshiyuki on his 3rd go! We love his amazing power, control and coordination. 💪🏻 Congrats for getting 2nd place in that World Cup. 🥈

✍🏻 When we didn’t get to climb, the next best thing was to sketch climbing. We’ve no idea sketching climbing (actually tracing climbing) can be so addictive and therapeutic. And we continued sketching frames after frames. 🎨The more we sketch, the more we thought we could put them together to form an animation. 🎬 It’s almost as fun as climbing… just joking. 🙃
