This is for the ones who stayed — through the fevers, the heartbreaks, the growing pains, and the quiet battles no one else saw.
For the women who carried love in the smallest things — in packed lunches, in late-night prayers, in tired eyes that still checked one more time to make sure everyone made it home safe.
For the mothers by birth, by bond, by choice — who became comfort, safe places, the soft voice that somehow made the world feel less heavy.
For the ones who went without so their children wouldn’t have to. For the women who wore strength so naturally that no one noticed how exhausted they truly were.
For the mothers who worked all day and still stayed awake helping with homework. For the ones who hid their tears in silence so their children could keep smiling.
For the women who raised children that didn’t share their blood, but shared their heart. For every grandmother, stepmother, older sister, aunt, mentor, or mother figure who stepped in and chose love.
To the hands that healed, held, cooked, cleaned, comforted, and kept everything together even when they themselves were falling apart.
For the mothers who loved from a distance — calling from another city, another country, another timezone — missing birthdays and milestones while carrying the ache of separation quietly inside them.
For the mothers we can still hug, and for the ones we now hold only in memory. For the women whose love never really leaves — even after they do.
To every woman who has ever done the work of nurturing, protecting, sacrificing, forgiving, and showing up — with or without appreciation, with or without rest, with or without being told thank you —
Happy Mother’s Day.
